If you had to only listen to 2 albums for the rest of your life, what albums would you choose?

Amelie Soundtrack and The Miseducation of Lauren Hill.

What artist would you most want to collaborate with?

Fiona Apple and Esperanza Spalding (if I can put two)…

Last great concert you saw?

Prince

What is your favourite piece of musical equipment?

Piano, and/or anything with strings.

What is your most memorable musical experience?

I performed a jazz ballad with my duo, and as we finished playing I noticed a woman in the front row mouthing along, and crying. Later, she told us how nostalgia overcame her, now that song reminded her of memories from her past, and that to me is the ultimate phenomena of music, that it not only transports us, but bridges the gaps between the experience of a single individual to another.

What do you love most about music?

The only time I ever feel I’m making any sense at all is when I play; music, to me, is the ultimate form of communication.

What would you say to someone who is interested in studying music?

First: yes! That’s awesome! Second: what would you like to achieve in learning music?

What do you like to do when you are not playing music?

I love to write creatively; poems, prose, fiction, sometimes just random words I arrange until they look kind of interesting on the page. I used to dream of working for Disney as a kid, and I still draw and cartoon to this day. Also, chatting with family and friends, watching movies (Netflix!), jogging in warm weather and watching the rain fall during thunder storms.

What is your favourite film of all time?

Either The Princess Bride or Aladdin. I still wish I had a monkey.

What part of the world would you like to travel to most?

Europe! But specifically Belgium, France and Spain.
