Suggested but not required:

  • A laptop with Ableton installed
  • A working controller
  • Headphones

Please contact us if you have any questions about the class.

The class will be run by Brandon Gibson-DeGroote and Howard Goldbach.

Brandon is a multi-instrumentalist, electronic music producer and all around weirdo based in Toronto. He has been working intimately with Ableton for 8 years in performance and production settings.  Currently he performs in Most People, RaveTapes and Special Purpose and releases music under the alias of Precious Jewel.

Howard fuses his background in avant-garde classical music, adventurous electronic music, improvisational jazz and more song based structures to create his unique approach to music. It is his approach to synthesis, sound design, and his sense of melody and rhythm, which give his music its unique style.
Howard has worked with members of Dan Mangan + Blacksmith, Mother Mother, as well as with creative musicians Gordon Grdina, Francois Houle, Benoit Delbecq, Kenton Loewen, Peggy Lee, Giorgio Magnanensi, Peter Hannon and others. During his formative years, Howard studied at VCC, and UBC, earning a composition degree in 2004. www.howardgoldbachmusic.com
