If you had to only listen to 2 albums for the rest of your life, what albums would you choose?

This is hard. First two albums that come to mind in this moment are Bjork’s Medúlla and Ravel’s Sheherazade conducted by Simon Rattle

Last great concert you saw?

Vijay Iyer Trio at the MacLab in Banff, Alberta! I felt like my body was melting.

What is your favourite piece of musical equipment?

Me! The human body is one of the most versatile sound-makers there is!

What is your most memorable musical experience?

Improvising with the Jen Shyu Ensemble at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity this past summer! the experience is fairly recent, but i have a feeling i will remember it for a very long time. i truly felt free and connected to everyone in the room.

What do you love most about music?

Music unites the intellectual, emotional and spiritual.

What would you say to someone who is interested in studying music?

Music is magical and transcendent and fun! Don’t let the frustrations and challenges which come with learning an instrument make you forget about why you picked up that instrument in the first place!

What do you like to do when you are not playing music?

You can usually find me eating ice cream somewhere with my friends. I also love visual arts and spend a lot of my time drawing!

What part of the world would you like to travel to most?

I’m a romantic… I’d love to go to Paris!
